1 medium bottle gourd

1 onion, chopped

2 tomatoes, chopped

1’’ ginger, peeled and crushed

2 cloves of garlic, crushed

1 tbsp Olive oil

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp red chili powder

1 tsp coriander powder

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and black pepper to taste


1.Heat oil in a pressure cooker; add all the vegetables and spices.

2. Sauté for 2 minutes.

3. Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.

4. Open the cooker after the steam has escaped on its own.

5. Cool and grind the vegetables to a paste in a mixer. Adjust water according to the desired consistency.

6. Pour into the pan, through a sieve. Add lemon juice and bring to a light boil on low flame.

7. Garnish with freshly ground pepper and serve hot.
